Illegible might be in the area where the Carnegie brick plant was located. The brick plant was down near the valley floor, not back up in the hills at Tesla. The principals that owned the coal mine and the railroad were looking for other prospects to increase traffic on the A&SJ RR and found a deposit of clay in that area suitable for brickmaking. - note from Thom Anderson 6/28/24
