Food Depot
The background about why this personal story was created can be found at SACRAMENTO'S UNION TRACTION DEPOT.

The original photo is 8 x 10. My aunt gave me the photo along with other pictures to scan. She is deceased. I am almost certain my grandfather is standing at the front of his vehicle in this photograph. It looks like him. I guess the opening was a big to do!

My grandfather, Fred Sage, was a local business owner and a radio and sound enthusiast. He often did the sound for events locally. He owned Sage Radio on 9th and H streets. They lived above store. That place was torn down to make way for the courthouse. He had a new building built on the corner of 15th and I Streets, adjacent to the Memorial Auditorium. The store sold radios, phonographs and records, and large and small appliances. He even had a sound room so that you could preview music before purchasing!
