The
Annual WP Historical Convention has been a rousing success!
The Feather River Rail Society would like to thank our gracious
host, the California State Railroad Museum, all of our presenters
and volunteers and especially all of our guests for supporting
what we were repeatedly told was our best convention yet!
Stay tuned for reports and photos from the convention at the
museum blog (once we have all had a chance to rest!)
The
Western Pacific Railroad Museum at Portola is home to
North America's largest and most complete collection dedicated to
telling the story of one railroad. It is also one of the few places
where you can experience rail history in a truly "hands-on" way.
Come sit in the cab of the world's largest and mightiest diesel
locomotive, climb aboard passenger cars from the California Zephyr,
and take the throttle of a real locomotive under your control.
The Museum is
now open for the season. Weekend train rides resume Memorial
Day weekend! See the train rides page for more details.
