Summer is almost here and the Western Pacific Railroad Museum is open for the 2022 Summer Season. We will be open Thursdays and Fridays noon-4, and weekends 10-5 until October 2nd. Additionally, we will be open Mondays 10-5 for Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

Weekend caboose train rides resume Memorial Day weekend. Come ride a vintage caboose at the museum or, for extra-fare, ride with the hoghead in the locomotive!

On Saturday, June 11, we will be having our Annual Membership Meeting and dinner, come meet your fellow railfans and get a chance to meet personally with the museum leadership. If you are not an FRRS member, now would be a wonderful time to join. You can join online, Membership Information.

Also, on June 11, we will have having our final crew training class for 2022. If you would like to work on our railroad, this is your chance to join our Operating Department crew. Details can be found at Join the Operating Department.

We recently hosted the 2022 Western Pacific Railroad Historical Convention in Reno and had special events at Portola on Sunday to close out the convention activities. Photos from the convention and events can be seen on our WPRM Photo Gallery web page, WPRM Photo & Video Gallery.

The Museum Store at Portola is open for business with new items for 2022. Additionally we have two outlets for online shopping at Shop.
