Mohawk Valley Independence Day Festival
We had our first booth at a Mohawk Valley Independence Day Festival on July 3. Although our visitor level was not quite what we hoped, we still managed to sell museum merchandise, ice cream bars and hand out a great deal of literature about the WPRM and the Run A Locomotive program. We met a lot of people who had been to the museum years ago and were thinking of return visits. We also put out a lot of notice on the upcoming Railroad Days, Pumpkin Trains and Santa Trains.
Huge thank yous to David Elems, Ann Morningstar and Matthew Shuman for helping set up, crew and tear down the booth, and thank you to Duane van der Veen who entered his motorcar with WPRM banners in the parade and helped with tear down and pack-up.
We are already working on plans for next year and how to refine our presence and approach.
